Each year interested students have the opportunity to try out for the Wentworth Ski Team which competes at the Secondary Schools Ski Championships in Queenstown.

In addition, an academy type programme is currently under development with Snowplanet, 'the Southern Hemisphere's largest refrigerator', located just 15 minutes from Wentworth.   We plan to be able to offer our elite skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to receive professional coaching and guidance on a weekly basis.  Snowplanet has a fantastic range of facilities and is one of its kind in New Zealand, open all year round.  From here, Wentworth students will compete in the North Island Ski and Snowboarding Championships held each year in Term Three.
