Transport

A Wentworth College contracted bus service operates with pick-ups at Dairy Flat, Silverdale, Orewa and points along the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.   The College also runs 3 of its own buses, with students coming from as far afield as Matakana in the North, Kaukapakapa in the West and Milford in the South.

The School Day

The school teaching day runs from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m, with sports and cultural activities held either in the morning or after school and on Saturdays.

Student Advisory Services

Every student will be placed in a House. House Leaders monitor the overall academic and pastoral progress of each House.

Guidance and Careers throughout the school will be the responsibility of specialist Student Advisory Services staff as students move up through the school. Students and families will be offered specialist help in these areas. The College is committed to the pastoral care of students.

This commitment will enable every student to make a confident transition from school to work or tertiary study.

Standards of Behaviour

Students are expected to behave in a manner that makes Wentworth College a civilized and pleasant place where students show consideration for others.

Behaviour Outside School

Students should always be aware of the fact that their conduct reflects upon themselves and upon the reputation of the college. Uniform should always be worn in a way that is a credit to the College. Speech and manners are also matters that deserve much attention. A high standard of conduct is expected while travelling to and from school, and opportunities often arise in which College students can show consideration and courtesy towards younger children and adults.

Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs

Students are not to be involved with cigarettes, alcohol or drugs at school, or to and from school, or on any occasion when they are wearing school uniform, or at any function held under the control of the college. The school will view such involvement (in possession of, actually taking, or association with the activity) as a serious offence. The Police Youth Aid will be informed of any student attending Wentworth College who becomes involved in criminal activity while at school or while taking part in any event associated with the school.
