A special feature of Wentworth College is the understanding of the importance of emotional intelligence in educating students for future tertiary studies and career opportunities and advancement. The ability for students to develop excellent inter-personal skills is vital for success in business. The ability to work in team environments, confidently speak in public and the ability to work along side and manage people are skills that are essential for the future. At Wentworth these skills and characteristics are taught and encouraged throughout the school in each curriculum area. Students are challenged and supported in their development of these skills.
A feature of the school is a strong Drama club. Two school productions are produced each year. Wentworth is also one of Auckland’s leading schools in the inter-schools “Shakespeare” competition. Supporting the Drama programme is a strong debating department with teams debating against schools throughout Auckland.
